JEPARA – PT Komipo (Korea Midland Power) Jawa-Bali Power Generation Unit PLTU Tanjung Jati B Jepara, in collaboration with the Korean Jepara Association, held a Korean cultural promotion event attended by 70 students from the association.
The event was organized by PT KPJB – PLTU Tanjung Jati B as part of its effort to introduce Korean culture to the local community in Jepara. It took place on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at second floor of Korean Jepara office and was led by four representatives from PT Komipo, South Korea, along with several staff members, teachers, and the principal of the Korean Jepara Association.
Hayon Kim, a representative from PT Komipo, stated that the visit was part of a one-month business trip to Indonesia.
“Our company aims to introduce South Korean culture, including the language and traditional cuisine, to the Indonesian community,” Kim said.
Kim also added, “I truly appreciate the students who are eager to learn the Korean language. Although Korean can be a bit challenging, I’m delighted to see their enthusiasm.”
During the event, the PT Komipo team taught several new Korean slang words, which were translated directly by educators from the Korean Jepara Association. The students also took part in educational games related to Korean culture.
As a token of appreciation, the PT Komipo team presented souvenirs to all pstudents. They also introduced traditional Korean foods, and the event concluded with a communal meal featuring popular dishes such as tteokbokki, gimbap, kimchi, sikhye, and more.
